Biographical Sketch

As a component of the national Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, the Texas Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at Texas Tech University educates, conducts research, and gathers information regarding wildlife biology, wetland ecology, the maintenance of biodiversity, ecology and management, and fish biology, management and culture.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of materials relating to the Texas Parks and Wildlife for the 21st Century study. Included in the holdings are emails between the various researching parties, drafts and edits of reports, final copies of the reports, videotapes, and CD-ROM disks.

The project was a joint venture between Texas Tech University and Texas Parks and Wildlife. After bids were put out for consultants, Loomis Austin and Responsive Management helped prepare many of the reports. The breakdown of the project, contract number 1434-HQ-97-RU-01570, is as follows:

Phase I reports were done by Responsive Management, volumes 1-10.

Phase II reports on the Conservation Needs Assessment was done by Loomis Austin.

Phase III Analysis reports were done by Texas Tech University.
