Biographical Sketch
The Sports Information Office traces its origins to the Sports News
Office in the early 1950s, and evolved to the present designation in the late
1960s. Sports Information serves in a public relations capacity as a liaison
between the media and the athletic department. The Office maintains media
records on all Tech athletes, as well as compiles and designs media guides and
game programs.
Scope and Contents
The collection contains Texas Tech University sport memorabilia items
such as bumper stickers, schedule cards, ticket stubs, a button, and trading
cards. This is an artifical collection that combines materials from various
donations and collection as well as material collected by the University
Archivist.
