Biographical Sketch

Founded at Texas Tech in 1981, the Women's Studies Program offered courses which could satisfy social sciences and humanities degree requirements. The purpose of the program was to promote perspectives with special awareness in women's concerns. The Women's Studies Council was established to advise the program's director, and to facilitate partipication by and engage the university's diversity community.


Scope and Contents

The collection consists of exit interviews of former female Texas Tech employees, most of whom were teaching faculty, conducted from 1981-2006 by the Women's Studies Council. Also included are the council's meeting minutes from 1981-1991.
