The Women's Service Organization (WSO) evolved from a 1959 committee
of the Association of Women Students, which was composed of 17 members. Its
members continue to participate in a wide variety of campus projects. Maroon,
representing service, and white, symbolizing friendship and equality, are the
organization's recognized colors.
