Biographical Sketch
Jim W. Reed played basketball for the Pine Bluff Zebras from 1948 to 1952,
then joined the men's basketball team at Texas Technological College. His team
won three consecutive Border Conference Championships from 1953-1956.
His 1955-1956 team included Bobby Wilson, Earl Redwine, Eugene Carpenter,
Du-Wayne Blackshear, Logan Cummings, Sterling Gibson, Royce Elam, Harry Scaling,
Ned Underwood, Trainer Bo Midkiff, Coach Gene Gibson, Manager Dennis Calvert and
Coach Polk Robinson.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of scrapbook materials and photographs which were
loaned for photocopying. The items have also been scanned onto CD-ROM.
Transferred to the Audio Visual unit were two game films- Texas Tech vs. Iowa
State, December 8, 1955, and Texas Tech vs. West Texas State College, December
29, 1953.
