The Monterey Plainsmen won four state titles under legendary baseball
head coach Bobby Moegle: 1972, 1974, 1981, and 1996. Bobby Moegle gained win
number 1,000 in 1995, his 36th season as head coach for the Plainsmen. He
played in the minor leagues before becoming a high school baseball coach in
1960 and retiring after 1999.
