A fund raising director, investor, and philanthropist, Adams was born
in 1895 and studied economics at the Sorbonne in Paris and at University
College in London. He became the director of the Southwest Campaign Bureau of
Dallas in 1925. Adams actively invested in the real estate, oil, and stock
markets, and was involved in fund-raising and membership drives for various
charitable Jewish organizations. He also served as the Texas field
representative for the United Jewish Campaign (1926).
