Biographical Sketch

A World War II veteran, Ross Ayers was the long-time commander of the Lubbock National Guard unit. He also served as Adjutant General of the Texas National Guard from 1968 to 1973.


Scope and Contents

The collection contains general office files pertaining to Ayers' tenure as Adjutant General. These include: an audit file, birthday letter file, printed material, conference file, by-laws of the National Guard Association, letters and travel orders, inaugural letters, personal and reading files, some photographs, reports, a Texas Tech Distinguished Alumnus Award file and travel vouchers.
