Teacher and author Ruth Horn Andrews was born in 1893 in Jasper,
Tennessee. Her father, Dr. Paul Whitfield Horn, was the first president of
Texas Technological College. She received B.A. and M.A. degrees from Texas
Technological College where she taught English (1933-1943). In 1943, she
married Joseph Andrews and moved to New York City where she taught at New York
University. She published The First Thirty Years: a
History of Texas Technological College, 1925-1955 in 1956. Ruth Andrews
died in 1986 in New York.
