         <head>Biographical Sketch</head>
         <p>Born in 1867 in Mississippi, Boyd moved to Texas in 1881, and worked
		  for cattleman C. C. Slaughter on the Lazy S Ranch, serving as foreman from
		  1897-1910. In 1910, he established his own ranch in Southeastern Cochran
		  County, Texas. He was also involved in real estate development in Lubbock,
		  Texas, and served as county commissioner for Cochran County. Boyd married
		  Margaret Collins in 1907, and the marriage produced three children. He died in
		  1952.</p>
