Biographical SketchThis was a military commission appointed in 1862 by General P. O. Hebert to hear cases in San Antonio, Texas, of persons arrested because of Union sympathies, chiefly among German Texans, during the Civil War. Texas served the Confederate States of America during the war between the states.
