Biographical Sketch

In the twentieth century, wool marketing associations were formed to promote the industry and give ranchers a stronger, collective voice in regards to wool legislation. The Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers' Association was established in 1915 with J. B. Murrah of Del Rio, Texas, selected as the first president.

The collection consists of materials created and received by the association in its activities to promote the sheep and goat industry in dealing with legislation, predator control, labor, research, water conservation, marketing, and other matters.
