A Lubbock graphic artist, historian, petroleum draftsman, and poet,
Fred Cowart was also Chief illustrator for Reese Air Force Base. He composed
The Firepower Theme, which was written in 1983 in
honor of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds aerobatics team. The materials came
from Mr. Cowart's personal collection.
The collection consists of correspondence, scrapbook material,
literary production, and printed material. For the scrapbook material, the
collection contains envelope art and personal writings. Printed material
includes the Firepower theme and information on
various military precision flight teams such as the Thunderbirds and the Blue
Angels.
