Biographical Sketch

The West Texas Chamber of Commerce had its beginning in Fort Worth, Texas, in December, 1918. This organization was established to effectively serve West Texas through economic and promotional growth with the Texas Chamber of Commerce. It's original office time was located at Abilene, Texas. The records of the Chamber represents its history and operation for the past fifty years. Today the Chamber is a part of the Texas Chamber of Commerce, which merged in 1986 and whose main office is in Austin, Texas.
