Biographical Sketch

Lane, a prolific writer, has published numerous books of poetry, memoir, creative nonfiction, and a play. His books include Waist Deep in Black Water, Abandoned Quarry and Circling Home. Organization

The collection is organized by book titles and publisher (Holocene Press and Hub City Writers Project), and by types of materials such as correspondence, teaching material, photographs, journals, computer discs and AV items, and artifacts. Word or image files on computer disks were printed by SWC/SCL staff and the disks were retained. Some disks and files could not be opened. Loose items with no obvious association were put in Miscellaneous folders. John Lane used the same or similar titles for different works, both published and unpublished; some items associated with book publications may be in separate files under Literary Production, Prose or Literary Production, Poetry. Books included in the collection were cataloged for the Natural History Collection.
