Biographical Sketch

The Texas Heritage Music Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation, was established in July, 1987, to preserve and perpetuate the traditions in Texas music, to examine the background of Texas music, to trace influences and patterns in Texas music, to document the role music has played in Texas society, and to provide free educational programming to the Texas community.

Kathleen Hudson, Ph.D., is Professor of English and Interdisciplinary Studies at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. She teaches Rhetoric, Creative Writing, Drama, Mythology, Survey of Literature, World Literature, and is the Technical Writing Director of The Freshman Experience. Dr Hudson has published books of interviews with many musicians, especially Texas musicians, publishes as a freelance writer in newspapers and magazines, speaks at conferences, and is Executive Director and a founder of the Texas Heritage Music Foundation.

The collection bulks with audio and includes both oral history interviews and live performances in Kerrville, Austin, San Antonio, Louisiana, Tennessee, the Midem festival in Cannes, and elsewhere.
