Biographical Sketch

Lance Cowan operates an independent publicity agency, founded in 1996 in the Greater Nashville, Tennessee, area. He was previously publicist for Antone's, the historic venue and record label in Austin, Texas. Cowan attended Murray State University, graduating in 1981 and working for newspapers including The Nashville Banner.

Scope and Content

Cowan has included the Southwest Collection in mailings for press releases and sample recordings from the artists represented by his company. Materials are sorted by artist with manuscripts and media in the same folders. The collection is in good condition and is part of the Crossroads of Music archive.
