Agency HistoryThe mission of the Brazos Valley Development Council (from September 1997 known as the Brazos Valley Council of Governments) is to benefit the citizens of the Brazos Valley region by serving as the vehicle for their local governments to cooperatively identify needs, develop responses, implement solutions, eliminate duplication and promote the efficient and accountable use of public resources, and to improve the quality of life. Their programs address services to the aging, affordable housing, health care, senior citizen volunteer services, employment resources, public safety, solid waste management, and geographic information services.
