Bill files,
1993-1998, 10.24 cubic ft. |
|
Bill files contain bill copies, bill analyses, committee hearing
request forms, fiscal notes, witness lists, committee reports, amendments,
summaries of committee actions, correspondence, printed material, publications,
newspaper clippings, and notes. The files date from the 73rd, 74th, and 75th
Legislatures, 1993-1998, and consist of legislative bills authored and
sponsored by Senator Jerry Patterson and a few background working files. Note
that, according to Patterson's staff, much of the 73rd legislature bill
material was destroyed in the mid-1990s. Subjects range from background checks,
police pension, in-state tuition, prevention of horse theft, drainage programs,
National Guard, and building codes to common-law marriage, home equity lending,
jails, fugitive apprehension, electioneering, life and health insurance,
lottery, gambling devices for the disabled, mental health, bulletproof vests,
hate crimes, polygraph tests, abandoned vehicles, taxpayer liability,
conservatorship of a child, vehicles, boating records, and the protection of
coastal resources. |
|
Arrangement |
|
Material is arranged in reverse order by legislative session, i.e.
75th then 74th then 73rd. Within each session, materials are arranged in
roughly bill number order with intervening subject and background files. Bills
are in numerical but not consecutive order. |
