copies of 43 editorial cartoons, with Bob Bullock as the subject, which
appeared in Texas newspapers from about 1972 to 1988. Several of the cartoons
are undated. Cartoons depict Bullock as secretary of state, comptroller, and
candidate for comptroller and governor. Topics include delinquent tax payers,
election campaigns, revenue forecasts, unions, and redistricting. Cartoonists
include Bob Taylor, Ben Sargent, Harold Maples, and Ben Garrison. |

Bob Bullock, a Texas politician, served in the Texas House of
Representatives from 1957 to 1959 and as Assistant Attorney General from 1967
to 1968. He was on the Governor's staff from 1969 to 1971, and then served as
Secretary of State from 1971 to 1973, Comptroller of Public Accounts from 1975
to 1991, and Lieutenant Governor from 1991 to 1999. Bullock received a
bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and a law degree from Baylor
University. He was born in Hillsboro, Texas on July 10, 1929 and died in Austin
on June 18, 1999.
