         <abstract label="Abstract:" encodinganalog="520$a">These materials
		  consist of two 16 mm movie tapes and one audio (reel-to-reel) tape made of
		  various excitable statements of defense lawyer Melvin Belli during and
		  following the trial of Jack Ruby. (Jack Ruby was convicted of murdering Lee
		  Harvey Oswald, the accused assassin of President John F. Kennedy and a Dallas
		  policeman.) Because of his perceived misconduct and unethical behavior the
		  State Bar of Texas brought suit against Mr. Belli to disallow him from
		  practicing law in Texas. These tapes were part of the evidence entered by the
		  State Bar in its suit. See Supreme Court case A-10081. The motion was denied by
		  the court.</abstract>

         <head>Scope and Contents of the Records</head>
         <p>These materials consist of two 16 mm movie tapes and one audio
		  (reel-to-reel) tape made of various excitable statements of defense lawyer
		  Melvin Belli during and following the trial of Jack Ruby. (Jack Ruby was
		  convicted of murdering Lee Harvey Oswald, the accused assassin of President
		  John F. Kennedy and a Dallas policeman.) Mr. Belli was Ruby's attorney and when
		  the death verdict was read in court he began shouting statements about the
		  prejudice and/or bigotry found in the jury and also maligning the trial judge
		  and the opposing counsel. After the trial he made similar public statements
		  that “no justice could be found in Dallas.” Because of his
		  perceived misconduct and unethical behavior the State Bar of Texas brought suit
		  against Mr. Belli to disallow him from practicing law in Texas. These tapes
		  were part of the evidence entered by the State Bar in its suit. See Supreme
		  Court case A-10081. The motion was denied by the court.</p>
