The Texas Board of County and District Road Indebtedness was created
by the 42nd Legislature in 1932 to repay Texas counties and districts for roads
that had been built with funds from bonds or other debts issued by local
authorities and that had been taken into the state's designated highway system.
The board had no staff and was composed of three ex-officio members: the
Comptroller of Public Accounts, the State Treasurer, and the engineer-director
of administration of the State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation. The 64th Legislature in 1975 vetoed all appropriation requests
for the board. All board functions were transferred to the Fiscal Agency of the
Treasury Department.

provisions of the County and Road District Highway Fund. The information
questionnaire provides a county map showing state highways and road districts,
general county information, a summary of county claims for eligible
obligations, county expenditures on state highways, and details of bond
issues.
