		  administrative correspondence and memos received or sent by the Records
		  Management Division of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission from
		  1965 to 1989. The bulk of the records are from 1988 to 1989 and comprise the
		  division's correspondence with individual state agencies. Topics include the
		  publication of the <emph render="italic">Texas State Records Management
		  Manual</emph>, the establishment of agency record retention schedules, the
		  designation of an agency records administrator, and visits by the division's
		  records consultants with agencies to implement the manual. Other administrative
		  correspondence is from 1965 to 1987 on miscellaneous subjects such as the
		  transfer and storage of state agency records at the Records Center, shortages
		  of space and a moratorium on sending records to the Records Center, and
		  destruction requests. </abstract>
