Historical Note

Lt. Josh W. Oden from Abilene, Texas served as an antitank and mine platoon leader. He received basic training at Camp Chaffico, Arkansas. Before going overseas he was a member of Headquarters, 147th Infantry Regiment of the 37th Division 1 at Camp Polk, Louisiana. Prior to entering the service he was employed with M. C. Rhodes Trucking Company. He entered the Army in December, 1950. He attended the University of Texas.


Scope and Contents

This collection consists of 199 black and white photographs starting with the Far East Air Ground Operations School photograph of the men who attended the Indoctrination Course 53-25 from July 13 - 18, 1953. The photographs include scenes of training, new weapon systems, artillery, views of Korea, and the people Lt. Josh W. Oden served with and befriended during the conflict and later in the city of Tokyo, Japan.
