		<p> 
		  <persname>James Evans Yeager</persname> was born 
		  <date>November 28th, 1750</date> in 
		  <geogname>Alabama</geogname> and died in a 
		  <geogname>Northern Prison Camp</geogname> during the 
		  <subject>Civil War.</subject> Other members of the Yeager family are
		  noted in the 
		  <subject>genealogy</subject> publication, but the information is
		  primarily about 
		  <persname>Nicholas Yager</persname> (the original spelling of the
		  surname), patriarch of the family. Very little information on the personal or
		  professional lives of the individuals is included, but the publication does
		  contain photographic copies of family members with captions. </p>

		<head>Scope and Content Note</head> 
		<p>The collection contains over 22 letters mainly from 
		  <persname>James</persname> to 
		  <persname>Caroline.</persname> The letters began
		  <date> January 22, 1862</date> to Yeager’s sibling telling them about
		  the war, asking them to write, and includes information on the Union army.
		  There are some unknown dates and copies of letters in folder 8. In folders 9
		  and 12 there are detailed 
		  <subject>genealogies</subject> of the Yeager family including a
		  detailed 
		  <subject>genealogy</subject> chart of 
		  <persname>James Evans Yeager </persname>and a publication titled 
		<title render="doublequote">The Nicholas Yager-Yeager Descendants: A
		  Genealogy 1678-1986</title> by 
		<persname>Odesa Collins.</persname> Folder 10 contains 6 
		<subject>photographs</subject> of Sterling silver coffee service and
		flatware, China and crystal glassware and place settings owned by the Yeager’s.
		Folder 11 contains a Confederate $100 bill and a Mexican Centavo $25 dollar
		bill. </p>
