		<head>Biographical Note</head> 
		<p>David Roosevelt Bunch was born in 1925 in Lowry City, MO. He received
		  a BS degree from Central Missouri State University, and an MA in English from
		  Washington University, St. Louis. Bunch is the author of over 200 stories and
		  poems prior to 1957, when he published his first science fiction story,
		  <emph render="doublequote">Routine Emergency.</emph> He is categorized as an
		  American proponent of the <emph render="doublequote">New Wave</emph> subgenre.
		  Bunch published over 75 science fiction stories from 1957-1997, of which some
		  40 were collected into anthologies. Bunch was included in Harlan Ellison’s
		  <emph render="italic">Dangerous Visions</emph>. Bunch was nominated for a
		  Philip K. Dick award in 1993, for a Promethean Lamp poetry award in 1966, and
		  won first prize for long poems in the Scimitar and Song Awards for 1969. He
		  died May 29, 2000 in St. Louis, MO.</p>
