Biographical SketchOn April 19, 1892, cowboys, soldiers and others ran from the Texas-Oklahoma state line to stake claims to lands near Cheyenne, Oklahoma and the Washita River. The donor of the collection, Newton Goodwin, lives in Lubbock, Texas. Appearing in the photograph is Jessie Ann Goodwin, an aunt of Newton Goodwin who lives in Lubbock, Texas. The Collection also contains an image of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, on April 19, 1892, following the land rush to stake claims on and near the Washita River.
