The Institute of Religious Studies opened on the UST campus on June 13, 1971 and operates under the Dean of the School of Theology, with its own director, staff and faculty. It is largely a summer program. The MRE Program is a professional program of studies designed to prepare qualified personnel to work for Christian renewal in the field of religious education. It is multidisciplinary and thematic in design; lecturers from various disciplines are invited for one or two weeks to bring their expertise to bear upon each year’s theme. The program is open to persons of all faiths who meet the admission requirements.
