Biographical Note

Agnes Peters Maxwell Neumann was born December 10, 1909, in Texas, and died June 14, 1992, in Orange County, California, at the age of 82, according to California Death Records published on Ancestry.com. Ms. Neumann lived in Laguna Hills, California, in 1980, according to collection materials.

Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Agnes Maxwell Neumann collection includes a variety of performing arts materials, mainly programs of classical music performances in Orange County, California. The bulk of the materials can be dated from 1970-1980. The collection also includes a small number of clippings, mainly promotions and reviews of classical music performances; dance and opera programs; classical music publicity; and published works.

The Agnes Maxwell Neumann collection of performing arts materials was received in little discernible order. During its processing, the collection was divided into separate files for clippings, programs, publicity, and published works. Folded documents were flattened, and the papers were arranged alphabetically and chronologically by subject and medium, placed in acid-free folders, and stored in acid-free boxes.
