Dian Malouf is a professional photographer, author, and internationally known jewelry designer. She was born in Houston, reared on a ranch in Hebbronville, and now lives in Dallas, Texas. She attended Southern Methodist University. She is the author of two books, "The Cattle Kings of Texas" and "Seldom Heard: Ranchers, Ranchos and Rumors of the South Texas Brush Country." Malouf is married to tax attorney Donald J. Malouf, and they have four children.

Malouf spent 10 years researching and photographing Texas ranchers for her book, "The Cattle Kings of Texas." These records consist of the tapes and transcripts of interviews with prominent cattle ranchers of Texas.
