Scope and Content Note

The G. W. Taylor Papers are comprised of two letters dated in 1864 and an undated envelope sent to Texas. The first correspondence is dated March 30, 1864 and is from G. W. Taylor to his wife, F. N. Taylor. Taylor describes conditions in the service, and expresses his feelings over the loss of a very fine mare, and his longings for home and food. Also of interest are instructions given to his wife by Taylor regarding his Negroes. The second letter is dated June 30, 1864 and is also from G. W. Taylor to his wife.
