		<head>Creator Sketch</head> 
		<p>Little is known about author Ben F. Harigel who in 1946 wrote <title render="italic">Leaflets from the Book of Life</title>.  Harigel was a member of the Texas Press Association in 1915 and in 1928 became its president.  He was also President of the Texas Gulf Coast Press Association from 1940 to 1941.  Harigel is noted for his editorial work at the LaGrange County Journal.  In 1931, Harigel married Helen Grace Stapleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mike Stapleton of Borden County.  They had two daughters, Gail and Judith.  Mrs. Ben F. Harigel passed away in 1991, after her husband.</p>

		<p>The Ben F. Harigel Papers are comprised of 5 items pertaining to LaGrange, Texas, during the 1900s.  There are two copies of the bylaws of the LaGrange Rebekah Lodge No. 278 located in LaGrange, Texas, a copy of the constitution and bylaws of the Junior Luther Leage and one of the LaGrange Fire Department of LaGrange County, Texas.  Also included are the bylaws and regulations of the LaGrange Lodge No. 30, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.</p>
