Creator SketchEmily Margaret Perry (Mrs. Arthur A. Moore, Sr.) was the granddaughter of Mrs. James F. Perry, the sister of Stephen F. Austin. Scope and Content NoteA postcard and printed materials document the life and death of Stephen F. Austin and the celebration of the victory at the Battle of San Jacinto. The materials include 2 original calling cards used by Stephen F. Austin and the printed announcement of his death in Columbia, Texas, December 28, 1836. The postcard illustrates the tomb of Austin at Peach Point in 19009. Of particular interest is an invitation sent to "Capt. J. F. Perry and Lady, Brazoria," to un Banquete Y Baile on the 21st of April, 1838, to celebrate the glorious victory at the Battle of San Jacinto. The ball is being held in Bexar by El Coronel Seguin and los individuos de su compania.
