		<head>Creator Sketch</head> 
		<p>A. H. Boegeman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1851.  He started his career as a priest but later left the church to learn the boot and shoemaking trade.  Mr. Boegeman served in the Indiana Legislature before settling in Hillsboro, Texas.</p>
		<p>Boegeman spent several years running his shoe business in Hillsboro until he sustained injuries leaving him disabled, shortly after the death of his wife in August 1926.</p>
		<p>A. H. Boegeman died in 1930 at the age of 75 and was survived by his two daughters: Nina M. Boegeman, a graduate of Texas Christian University, and Mrs. C. D. Houghton, of New York.</p>

		<p>Financial documents, printed materials and photographs record the professional life of A. H. Boegeman, shoemaker, in Hillsboro, Texas, from 1908-1930.  Financial documents (1908-1919) include a bond, three checks and one receipt that record local transactions between individuals, banks and companies in Hillsboro, Texas.  Printed materials consist of a business card and a newspaper clipping announcing the death of A. H. Boegeman.  Photographs include five snapshots, three of which are adhered to the original photo album paper, of A. H. Boegeman's shoe store and unidentified men in Hillsboro, Texas.</p>
