Abstract: The collection includes a holograph of Edward R. DeZurko's doctoral dissertation submitted to the Institiute of Fine Arts, New York University, April 1, 1953: "Functionalist Trends in Writings Pertaining to Architecture with Special Emphasis on the Period ca. 1700-1850." The collection also includes the typewritten manuscript of his recent book, Origins of Functionalist Theory, published by the Columbia University Press. The manuscript contains copious corrections by the author including instructions to the printer. In addition he has given to the Rice Library the corrected galley proof and the page proof.
