Abstract: This letter was written by John Churchill (John, Marquis of Blandford) 1690-1703, who was the son of the first Duke of Marlborough, grandson of Sir Winston Churchill. The recipient, Mr. Allan Bathurst was later to become treasurer to the Prince of Wales in 1757. Churchill expresses his happiness that Barnhurst plans to attend the upcoming coronation of Queen Anne, and sends regards on behalf of Baron Horatio Walpole.

Biographical Note

This letter was written by John Churchill (John, Marquis of Blandford) 1690-1703, who was the son of the first Duke of Marlborough. The recipient, Mr. Allan Bathurst was later to become treasurer to the Prince of Wales in 1757.

The letter is dated April 4, 1702, is handwritten on both sides of one leaf, and features a small red wax seal. Churchill expresses his happiness that Bathurst plans to attend the upcoming coronation of Queen Anne, and sends regards on behalf of Baron Horatio Walpole.
