The Public Relations Society of America was an organization dedicated to serving those professionals in the field of Public Relations whose goal was to “bridge the river of incompetence facing our profession” as stated by then-President James A. Little in 1981. The PRSA served the public relations network by offering continuing education, and encouraged members to seek certification through the National Accreditation Board in an attempt to maintain and preserve professional competency.
