John Stricker was born in Bremen, Germany, on 1868 June 5 to Jegesack and Lena Stricker. He immigrated to the United States in 1885 and eventually settled in Texas. He married Ida Fuos (1871-1953) in Bexar County 1892 November 30; the couple had two children, Stella L. and John, Jr. City directories list his occupation as a grocer and sometimes saloon owner at various locations in San Antonio. Around 1920, Stricker retired and moved to 111 Vance Street, where he died on 1941 July 6.
