Scope and Contents
The Transportation Institute opened in 1976 in the renovated Dallas Vocational School, at 2222 Ross Ave. The school was established under a federal court order to aid the DISD's voluntary desegregation efforts. The students recieved on-the-spot training for auto repair. The school closed in 1983 when the site was sold to Trammel Crow.
