	<head>Biographical Note</head>
	<p>Jed Cobb Adams was born January 14, 1876 in Kaufman, Texas. Adams was an attorney and Democratic Party leader. Before moving to Dallas in 1909, he distinguished himself as County Attorney in Kaufman County from 1898-1902, and as a delegate from Texas to the 1904 Democratic National Convention in St. Louis, Missouri. He later served as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas from 1919-1920, and as the Democratic National Committeeman from Texas, 1924, 1928, and 1932. In 1910 Jed C. Adams was certified as an attorney before the U.S. Supreme Court. Admas was also a military man, serving in the Judge Advocate General's Office of the Army. In 1919 he was honorably discharged with the rank of Major, and later held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Reserve Corps. Adams was highly respected as a leader in Dallas and was honored May 12, 1933 by the Dallas Chamber of Commerce. He died January 29, 1935.</p>

	<p>This collection contains the certificates of achievement of Jed Cobb Adams from his career as an attorney, military serviceman with the Judge Advocate General's Office, and Democratic Party Leader. Also included are several portraits of Adams at various ages from 1898-1932.</p>
