The Illinois Club of Dallas, TX was formed in 1936 and officially received its charter in 1937. It was a social club that was created to promote friendship among former residents of Illinois who lived in Dallas, TX and to preserve the memories of their lives in Illinois.
The collection contains the club's original charter and subsequent revised versions, correspondence, minutes of meetings, membership lists, and sign-in sheets for each meeting and events that the club held. The sign-in sheets and minutes were originally kept together in binders which have been discarded. The cover of each binder have been photocopied and placed at the front of each folder which contains the materials, respectively.

The majority of the minutes are kept in the form of a book, which has been left intact in this folder. The book also contains some news clippings scattered throughout and guest sign-in sheets, which are at the end of the book.
