Scope and Contents

Rosemont Elementary School was founded in 1922 in Oak Cliff to serve the Kessler Park neighborhood. The parents of those children enrolled have long been active in their children's education with the Rosemont PTA being founded in 1926 and an active Dad's Club for the school being mentioned in the Dallas Morning News in the early 1930s. The Dad's Club of Rosemont Elementary mission was to organize fathers of students attending Rosemont in order to help improve their children's education. Their programs ranged from the acquisition of reference materials for the library to building maintenance programs and various annual social activities.

This collection consists of club records for the decade of the 1950s. Records include minutes, financial statements, correspondence, Rosemont Elementary Directories, and activity reports. This collection documents the activities of a parental group during the 1950s involved in educational matters regarding their children.
