Administrative History

The Texas Society of Sculptors (TSOS) was founded in 1971 by Daniel Hawkins, Mary Paige Huey, and Mel Fowler as a non-profit organization with the intention to promote art and sculpture by seeking communication between sculptors, community centers, and educational institutions and providing education and artistic support. TSOS sponsors art shows and Sculp*fest and publishes newsletters throughout the year providing members with latest information about the sculpture community.


Scope and Contents

This collections contains the records representing 1996-2011 of the Texas Society of Sculptors. Included are newsletters, brochures, artist proposals and resumes, by-laws, meeting minutes, calendars, financial records, and correspondence. The original order and folders have been retained.
