Tommy Vasquez Papers
An Inventory of the Collection
Tommy Vasquez is a local actor and writer who has acted for several local theater groups and independent films. Born in Beeville, Texas in 1941, Tommy was the oldest child of Conrado and Rosa Vasquez, originally from Victoria, Texas. As a young child, he participated in radio shows and recitations of Mexican patriotic discourses for Fiestas Patrias. He moved to the Austin area permanently in 1989 and began acting and workshopping with Vortex Repertory Company and Teatro Libertad in 1994. In addition to his many theater credits, Tommy also has appeared in several independent films, most notably Historia Entertainment’s Harvest of Redemption: Malas Fronteras in 2005.
The Tommy Vasquez papers date from around 1994 until 2013, however the majority of the materials date from 1997. The collection features local newspaper articles, theater programs, a film, and biographical information.
