Administrative History

Faces of Austin is an oral history documentary (video recording) commissioned by the Austin History Center Association in 1985 that addresses change and growth in Austin. Austin citizens Ada DeBlanc Simond, C. B. Smith, Emma Long, Jose Uriegas, Eddie Wilson and Gordon Fowler are interviewed about their experiences in Austin through the years. The video was produced by Martha Hartzog of Alta Vista Video.


Scope and Contents

The collection contains 24 video recordings (U-matic 3/4 inch) of interviews with Ada DeBlanc Simond, C. B. Smith, Emma Long, Jose Uriegas, Eddie Wilson and Gordon Fowler conducted in the mid-1980s. In addition there are tape logs and handwritten transcripts of the interviews. The edited version of the video recording (both VHS and DVD) is cataloged as A 976.431 FA.


Arrangement

The records are arranged in chronological order, with the exception of two tapes of Ada Simond with dates written as "Early 1980s." These two tapes are filed with the other tapes of Ada Simond with the date 4/05/1985. Undated material is filed at the end of the series.
