Biographical NotePat Toth is an Austin, Texas resident with an avid interest in Austin public schools and the Austin Independent School District (AISD). The City of Austin has named many of its schools to commemorate the lives and deeds of Austin citizens that have made an impact on their community. Schools have been named after Texas war heroes and statesman, authors and educators and friends of the Austin education system. Materials about the aforementioned schools date from the late 1800s to present day and include newspaper articles about alumni reunions; school openings and dedications; sports teams and facilities; and obituaries of the school namesakes. In addition to the news clippings there are dedication ceremony programs and a few photographs of Austin High School and the original Anderson High School. Toth also retained Austin American-Statesman articles about school names that ran about once a decade.
