L.C. Anderson High School (originally called E.H. Anderson High School) opened in East Austin in 1907 as a high school for African American students. Anderson High School would educate Austin's African American students for sixty-four years until its forced closure in the early 1970s. Anderson High had four locations in East Austin before a federal judge ordered the Thompson Street iteration of Anderson High School to close in 1971 because it was still racially segregated years after Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka. The closing of the school was not a popular decision among some of the former students and community members because they felt that the school was integral part of the East Austin African American community. The Austin Independent School District (AISD) opened a new high school campus in Northwest Austin and named the school L. C. Anderson High School in honor of the East Austin High School. Today the former East Austin locations of the High School are often referred to as the "Original L. C. Anderson High School."
Austin native, Florence Hawkins Temple is an alumna of the O.L.C.A High School class of 1953. Her class was the last segregated class to graduate before the school integrated.
The class of 1953 held its first reunion in 1973. As part of the steering committee, Temple took part in the organization of O.L.C.A. High School reunions and held the position of record keeper.
In 1989, O.L.C.A High School alumni Joseph Reid and Dorothy Carter Hunter founded the Original L.C. Anderson Alumni Association (O.L.C.A.A.A). The O.L.C.A.A.A was formed as a way for Anderson High School graduates to honor the legacy of L.C. Anderson High School in Austin, Texas. The O.L.C.A.A.A took over the organization of school reunions and in 1991, after gathering student rosters from each class; they held the first All School reunion. These reunions continue to be held every three years.

This collection consists of reunion related material primarily for the class of 1953, the last segregated Anderson High School class. It also consists of information and programs from the All School reunions presented by the O.L.C.A.Alumni Association. The collections contains graduation material from the donor (1953-1973), documents relating to the history of L.C. Anderson High School (1952-1953), clippings relating to the L.C. Anderson High School (1953-2006), biographical information and obituaries of alumni (1914-2007), reunion programs (1973-2003), administrative documents relating to the organization of the reunions (1973-2007), photos and negatives of the reunions (1973-2006), ephemera from the reunions (undated); general photos of people and places in east Austin (1950-1999).
