Mary Doerr PapersAn Inventory of the Collection
Biographical NoteMary Doerr was born in 1934 in Memphis, Texas, and moved with her family to Austin when she was six years old. Mary pursued her childhood dream of becoming an artist when she returned to college in mid-life to complete bachelors and masters degrees in Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. She began her full time career as an artist in 1985. After nine years of working out of her home she opened the gallery Images of Austin and the Southwest in 1994 that features her complete works as well as samplings of work by guest artists in a variety of artistic mediums. As well as being an artist and gallery owner, Mary conducts classes in watercolor.
