The Roger Q. Small collection is comprised of approximately 110 drawings representing 39 projects and the project files for 18 of those projects. The materials were donated by Mrs. E. J. Hofheinz, and the majority of the materials document projects commissioned by her husband Mr. E. J. Hofheinz between 1934 and 1956.
All project files within this collection are for residential projects, both single and multi-family buildings. Most of the files contain only the contract between the architect and the client, Mr. E. J. Hofheinz. A few project files also contain some financial records such as invoices or estimates. The majority of the drawings are also of residential projects for Mr. E. J. Hofheinz, both new construction and additions and repairs to existing structures.

Arrangement |
|
Project numbers were not assigned to the drawings by the architect, the AHC assigned arbitrary numbers to each project for filing purposes. Also, since no original order was apparent for the project files and the titles of each project are very vague (e.g., "Cottage", "Apartment," etc.), it was decided to simply arrange the office files by the project numbers assigned to the corresponding drawings. |
