Retired Officers' Wives Club of Austin ScrapbooksAn Inventory of the Collection
Administrative HistoryThe club began in 1965 by the wives of retired military officers in the Austin area who found the transition to civilian life difficult. The club originally started as an informal group, but Mrs. John Carr organized it into a formal club. Events include games of bridge, "style shows" and a Valentine's Day dance.
